Our mission at the Hettinger County Sheriff’s Office is:
 - To safeguard the freedoms and preserve life and property of all citizens within Hettinger County by providing quality law enforcement.
 - To maintain order and encourage respect for the rule of law by integrating a "Fair but Firm" enforcement strategy.
 - To earn respect of all citizens within Hettinger County by maintaining a professional, well trained, and accountable work force that carries out their duties with fairness, tolerance, and equality to the best of their ability.
